How to prioritize custom delivery schedules?

  • How to Set Priority for Custom Delivery Schedules?
  • Use Case 1: Priority Set – Highest Priority Schedule Is Considered
  • Use Case 2: No Priorities Set – Only Common Dates Are Considered
  • Default Priority Order (if no custom priority is set):

If your store offers multiple delivery schedules based on Pickup Locations, Shipping Methods, Products, or Categories, you can now set priorities to control which schedule should be applied at Checkout.
For example, when you sell items from different collections like Flowers, GIFs, Diary, or Bakery, each might have its own delivery availability. To avoid conflicts when multiple items are in the cart, set a priority for custom delivery schedules.

How to Set Priority for Custom Delivery Schedules? #

Follow the steps below to set the priority for the custom delivery schedule.

  • Go to your Shopify admin dashboard and open Apps > Flexi Delivery & Pickup Date > Delivery Schedule.
  • Click on the ‘Add Custom Delivery Schedule‘ button to edit or create a new one.
  • Scroll to the “Delivery Schedule Settings” section and click on the dropdown. Enter a number in the priority field where:
    • 1 means highest priority
    • Numbers like 2, 3, etc., mean lower priority.
  • Click Save Settings.

Note: Each delivery schedule can now have a Priority (1 to 10), where 1 is the highest.

Once set, they will look like this:

Use Case 1: Priority Set – Highest Priority Schedule Is Considered
#

We consider two collections:

Bakery Collection (e.g., Birthday Cake)

Flowers Collection (e.g., Pink Carnation Bouquet)

Schedule 2

Here’s how the delivery schedules will appear when priorities are set for each collection.

When the products in the cart belong to both the collections of flowers and bakery, the flower collection’s delivery schedule (higher priority) is applied, allowing delivery every day.

Use Case 2: No Priorities Set – Only Common Dates Are Considered #

As configured above, when a customer adds products from both collections to the cart, and no priority is set, the common available delivery days of Monday, Wednesday, and Friday will be shown. Since the Bakery schedule doesn’t have time slots, time selection will not be available at checkout.

Default Priority Order (if no custom priority is set): #

If no custom priority is set, then it will consider the default priority order as shown below:
